ROME, Italy, September 26, 2011/African Press Organization (APO)/ — IFAD President to African leaders: “Act now: investing in agriculture is the best way to prevent famines”.

African leaders can prevent additional famines with the right policies and sustained investment in food security.

Kanayo F. Nwanze, the President of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (www.ifad.org), will host a virtual press conference from his office at IFAD’s Rome headquarters to discuss why he believes African can ensure its own food security, focussing particularly on West Africa.
