Eritrea / Radio Erena: an independent news source for Eritrea

 

 

PARIS, France, March 11, 2010/African Press Organization (APO)/ — Based in Paris and run by Eritrean exile journalists, Radio Erena has been operating for the past nine months. Broadcasting by satellite to Eritreans in Eritrea and on the Internet to the Eritrean diaspora, the station serves as an independent news source for a country where press freedom is non-existent and anyone straying from the official line is severely punished. This original project is supported by Reporters Without Borders.
