Prime Minister of Benin takes part in the 2015 African Caucus meeting

The meeting of African Governors of the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund, known as the African Caucus, was also attended by the former President of South Africa, Thabo Mbeki

LUANDA, Angola, September 3, 2015/African Press Organization (APO)/ The Prime Minister of Benin, Lionel Zinsou arrived in Luanda in the early hours of Friday morning in order to attend the second day of working sessions of the African Caucus.

Arriving at the international airport, Lionel Zinsou was welcomed by Secretary of State for Transport José Kuvingua, who briefed him on the current status of the work of the Caucus and addressed some issues regarding Angola. Those present at the airport included a number of officials from the Ministry for Foreign Relations and from the Ministry of Finance as well as Benin staffers already involved in the technical work of the meeting.

It should be borne in mind that the Luanda Declaration is scheduled to be read on this, the last day of work. Before this, the African governors affiliated with the Bretton Woods Institutions and the Caucus meeting delegates will take part in discussions here in Luanda in two panels on “Funding Options for ODA” and “Public-private partnerships – solutions to the infrastructure challenges of Africa.”

The meeting of African Governors of the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund, known as the African Caucus, was also attended by the former President of South Africa, Thabo Mbeki.

The event was opened by the Vice-President of Angola, Manuel Vicente.
