BRUSSELS, Kingdom of Belgium, June 25, 2015/African Press Organization (APO)/ Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Didier Reynders welcomes the signature of the Peace and Reconciliation Agreement in Mali by the Coordination of Movements of Azawad (CMA), during the ceremony organised in Bamako on 20 June, under the high protection of President Ibrahim Boubacar Keita. Didier Reynders acknowledges the courage and the determination of all parties in Mali to invest in the process of national reconciliation and refoundation of the Malian state. Without this process, no sustainable socio-economic development is possible.

Didier Reynders congratulates the international mediation, lead by Algeria, for its efforts. The whole international community supports these efforts to come to the conclusion of this agreement.

Belgium is a longstanding partner of Mali. It will keep on supporting Mali in the refoundation of the state and the economy through a comprehensive approach that takes into account the multidimensional challenges the country faces. It will help in the execution of the Algiers Agreement, in particular the elements with regard to the process of national reconciliation.
