This report, which will be launched globally on the same day, discusses how a shift to economic growth that is less dependent on natural resource use and exports, could allow more sustainable progress, improve environmental protection and make African economies less vulnerable to external shocks.

 

Mr. Janvier Nkurunziza,an economist within UNCTAD’s Division on Africa: Least Developed Countries and Special Programmes, will lead the discussion on the Report.

 

Copies of the report will be distributed at the launch and it must be emphasized that the report is under embargo until 17h00 GMT on Wednesday 13 June 2012.
