Sweden / Ministry for Foreign Affairs Gunilla Carlsson to Zambia and Mozambique

 

STOCKHOLM, Sweden, November 9, 2011/African Press Organization (APO)/ — Minister for International Development Cooperation Gunilla Carlsson is to visit Zambia and Mozambique on 15-18 November. Ms Carlsson will have political discussions and visit Swedish aid projects. The trip is aimed at gathering current impressions as part of the preparations ahead of the High Level Forum on Aid Effectiveness in Busan on 29 November-1 December.

 

On the agenda in Zambia are talks with representatives of the new Zambian government, female parliamentarians, and meetings with representatives of other donor countries and organisations, civil society and the private sector. Ms Carlsson will also visit a health-related project.

 

The first day in Mozambique will be spent visiting Swedish aid projects in Niassa, a province in the north of the country. On the agenda of the second day are meetings with representatives of Mozambique’s government and meetings with representatives of major donor countries and multilateral organisations in Maputo.
