Somalia: drought emergency; Frattini urges humanitarian corridor

ROME, Italy, July 26, 2011/African Press Organization (APO)/ — In order to confront the drought emergency that has brought Somalia to its knees, it “is urgent and indispensable that a humanitarian and air corridor be set up to get emergency supplies where they are needed”. This was Minister Franco Frattini’s statement, who added that it was necessary to help the Somali people “defy, the Shabab terrorists if necessary, who have refused help because for them, unfortunately, people’s lives mean nothing”.
