New humanitarian operation for care in Italy of Libyan patients Rome 21 June 2011

 

 

ROME, Italy, June 21, 2011/African Press Organization (APO)/ — Within the context of a humanitarian effort to provide healthcare and assistance in Italy of Libyan citizens and children launched on 8 April following an accord between NTC President Mustafa Jalil and Minister Franco Frattini, an Italian Airforce C-130J transport plane was dispatched today from the Pratica di Mare airport with the task of repatriating 22 patients and 11 accompanying persons, treated and hosted over recent months in hospitals in the regions of Lombardy and Lazio.

 

The plane will return with an additional 14 Libyan patients, including 9 children, and 10 accompanying persons along with a Ukraine national wounded at Misurata while working as a nurse, to be treated at Rome’s San Camillo Forlanini hospital with the collaboration of the non-profit social cooperative “Europe Consulting onlus”.
