Côte d’Ivoire / UNOCI chief receives Belgium’s Minister of Defence



ABIDJAN, Ivory Coast, June 7, 2011/African Press Organization (APO)/ — The Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General for Côte d’Ivoire, Y.J. Choi, on Monday, 6 June 2011, received Belgium’s Minister of Defence, Pieter De Crem, at the headquarters of the United Nations Operation in Côte d’Ivoire (UNOCI) in Abidjan.


Speaking after the meeting, the Minister, who said he had come to discuss the post-crisis situation with Mr. Choi, said: “The meeting was very useful and we support the efforts being made by UNOCI and the Ivorian Government”.


“As a founding member of the European Union and based on the very interesting information that I have received, Belgium is really ready to support the development of Côte d’Ivoire,” he said.
