Amani Africa Exercise cycle is at its final stage / A Media day is organized on 26 October

ADDIS ABABA, Ethiopia, October 21, 2010/African Press Organization (APO)/ — The Amani Africa Command Post Exercise (CPX) will be conducted from 13th to 29th October 2010 at the headquarters of the African Union in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. In this regard, a Media Day will be organized on 26 October 2010 from 09h00 to 13h00 under the theme “African Standby Force and Media, how to access information?”.

The purpose of the Media Day is to give media professionals and experts on peace and security issues the opportunity to interact and to exchange views on the specific requirements of their respective work and to share ways forward for better collaboration.

The Media Day is also meant to hear from the media: how to facilitate coverage of Amani Africa Command Post Exercise, the ASF and the African Union Peace and Security Architecture (APSA) as a whole.

The Amani Africa Exercise Cycle is at its final stage, leading to the evaluation of the operational effectiveness of the AU Commission to plan, conduct and prosecute the deployment of the African Standby Force (ASF) in a peace support operation. Hence, the Media Day will not only provide the media with a unique occasion to know more about the Amani Africa Cycle but also to learn about how exercise will impact on the ASF in the future.

Please confirm your attendance.
