Nigeria / AU / Experts’ sessions of CITMC3 ended today with critical recommendations to ministers

 

 

ABUJA, Nigeria, August 6, 2010/African Press Organization (APO)/ — The expert’s session of the Third AU Conference of Ministers in charge of Communication and Information Technologies (CITMC-3) which started in Abuja, Nigeria, on 3 August, ended today, 5 August with critical recommendations to Ministers.

 

The recommendations focused on the implementation status of Declarations and Decisions adopted during previous ICT Ministers Conference and African Union assembly sessions, namely, the Reference Framework for the Harmonization of Telecoms and ICT Policies and Regulations in Africa and the African Regional Action Plan for the Knowledge Economy. The Action Plan for the Development of Postal Services in Africa, the new governance of the CIT Ministerial Conference and the implementation status of various projects and initiatives were also encapsulated in the experts’ recommendations.

The recommendations will be submitted for consideration and adoption to the AU Ministers in charge of Communications and Information Technologies, meeting from 6 to 7 August.
