Angolan tax police officials train in Italy
ROME, Italy, August 3, 2010/African Press Organization (APO)/ — The initiative is the “pride and joy” of Italian interventions in Angola, as Italian Ambassador to Luanda Magistretti underscored in his speech at the end of a 3-week training and specialisation course held by the Guardia di Finanza. The MFA Directorate General for Subsaharan Africa helped to organise the course for 18 Angolan tax police officials and two officers from São Tome’ and Principe.
Ambassador Magistretti underscored the major organisational effort by the Italian Embassy in Luanda and the GdF’s crucial collaboration on such an initiaitve. Angola is an increasingly strategic African nation in light of the rapid economic development and growing interest of Italian businesses in that market as well as the role the country has come to play as a regional and continental leader.
