The United Nations Conference on Trade and Development will release its report Economic Development in Africa 2009 globally on 15 June 2010.
“South–South cooperation: Africa and the new partnership for development” will be the theme of the report which analyzes trends in trade, investment and technology flows between Africa and other developing countries. The report also explores how such interactions can be used to meet African needs in such areas as economic growth, food security, energy, and response to climate change.
An UNCTAD expert on the report, Dr Janvier Nkurunziza, will provide a short overview of the report and handle questions on it. Hard copies of the report will be available at the launch on a first-come, first-served basis and refreshments will be provided.
