Somalia / Media Director Kidnapped

 

 

MOGADISHU, Somalia, June 4, 2009/African Press Organization (APO)/ — The National Union of Somali Journalists (NUSOJ) is today condemning the kidnapping of UNIVERSAL TV Director Ibrahim Mohamed Ali.

According to UNIVERSAL TV, Ibrahim Mohamed Ali, nicknamed Jeekey, was kidnapped in Garasbaley village yesterday, 2 June, by four hooded and armed men on their way back from Afgoye district to Mogadishu city. He was with Abdirisak Mohamud Jimale, one of the technicians of Universal TV.

The kidnappers took him in a sedan after they searched the Universal TV car and told Ibrahim Mohamed Ali that he is the one they are looking for.
