Swedish Minister for Trade Ewa Björling to lead business delegation to Morocco

 

STOCKHOLM, Sweden, March 30, 2009/African Press Organization (APO)/ — Morocco is one of Sweden’s largest export markets in North Africa, and in recent years exports of goods have increased by 18 per cent, according to figures for 2008 from Statistics Sweden.

 

Tomorrow, Minister for Trade Ewa Björling will begin a visit to Casablanca and Rabat together with a business delegation. The visit is intended to develop trade relations, with special focus on the medical technology industry. Dr Björling will also have a meeting with her Moroccan counterpart, Minister of Industry, Commerce and New Technologies Ahmed Chami. Topics on the agenda include the financial unrest and Sweden’s priorities during the Swedish Presidency of the EU.

Tuesday, 30 March

– Dr Björling will take part in bilateral meetings with Minister of Industry, Commerce and New Technologies Ahmed Chami.

 

– Dr Björling will also have a meeting with the Association for the Promotion of Women’s Enterprise (AMPEF).

 

 

Wednesday, 1 April

– Dr Björling will take part in a business event with Swedish and Moroccan companies.

 

– Dr Björling will inaugurate the Swedish Trade Council’s new office together with Mr El Aid Mahsoussi, State Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Trade.

 

After the inauguration ceremony, a press conference will be held together with Dr Björling and representatives from Swedish companies. Please call for more information.
