LAUSANNE, Switzerland, March 16, 2009/African Press Organization (APO)/ — The Directorate General for Development of the European Commission has confirm Friday its interest to have the African Press Organization (APO) organize six (6) press videoconferences related to Africa.

Press videoconference allows international press conferences, via videoconference, over the Internet.

Journalists can now participate to an international press conference without leaving their office or country while significantly saving on time and expenses. Journalists just need to seat in front of a computer connected to the Internet and ask questions to receive direct answers from their interlocutor.

In February 2009, the Secretary General of the African Press Organization (APO), Nicolas Pompigne-Mognard, has declared that his none-profit organization has  anticipated a worldwide increase in the organization of press videoconferences, particularly because of the international crisis that has constrained journalists to save on time and expenses.
