Specific duties

 

  • Contributes to the development and implementation of strategy and policies and programs to improve quality and strengthen the focus on results at the Bank, particularly with respect to supervision culture, use of ex-post evaluation and development of results reporting;
  • Writes, coordinates and produces technical and policy reports relating to implementation of the Bank’s agenda on strengthening the focus on results. This includes, inter alia, the Annual Review of Portfolio Performance;
  • Conducts independent research and analysis on complex issues related to the quality and results-orientation of the Banks operational portfolio, sector and country strategies and knowledge products;
  • Contributes to results reporting related to the Bank’s medium-term strategy and ADF replenishment cycle;
  • Contributes to analysis, advocacy and advice to task teams on timely closure and restructuring of operations;
  • Works under limited supervision to deliver agreed reforms on results reporting, results-oriented supervision, completion reporting and feedback of evaluation recommendations;
  • Coordinates cross-departmental teams to develop standard output and outcome indicators for key sector operations;
  • Contributes to management responses to official OPEV (independent evaluation) recommendations, and tracks implementation of agreed recommendations.

     

Selection Criteria

  • Master’s degree (or its university equivalent) in Management, Economics, Statistics or related field.
  • Preferably a minimum of six years of relevant professional experience in portfolio management, monitoring and evaluation, results-based methodologies or related.
  • Preferably strong experience in use of Bank information systems and analysis of Bank portfolio data.
  • Proven ability to formulate, design and implement projects and produce appropriate reports and studies.
  • Possession of team leadership, training and coaching skills, with a proven track record of working with teams and creating an empowering and creative work environment.
  • Ability to communicate and write effectively in English and/or French, with a good working knowledge of the other language.
  • Proficiency in the use of Bank standard software (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
