EU-Africa Troika Ministerial Meetings

 

ADDIS ABABA, Ethiopia, November 17, 2008/African Press Organization (APO)/ — The EU-Africa troika ministerial meetings from 20-21 November are part of the Lisbon EU-Africa Partnership and Action Plan for 2008-2010, particularly the Peace and Security Partnership

These meetings are part of the EU-Africa Partnership, adopted at the EU-Africa Summit in Lisbon on 8 and 9 December 2007 and its Action Plan for 2008-2010, which is now the framework and roadmap for EU-African relations.

The Action Plan covers eight partnerships that must be jointly prepared and implemented by the EU and Africa. Of these partnerships, the joint ministerial troika will reflect on the Peace and Security Partnership and announce the launch of the main concrete projects related to it. The foreign affairs troika will examine progress made on implementing the other seven partnerships and adopt a joint report on the whole of the Action Plan.
