KARTHUM, Sudan, October 23, 2008/African Press Organization (APO)/ — Sudan government, UN agencies, NGOs and civil society pledge action to improve the health and education of the Sudanese people, 26 October 2008

At the UN day celebration, leaders are “Committing to Action: Achieving the Millennium Development Goals in Sudan”.

Who: Ministry of International Cooperation, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Social Welfare, Ministry of Environment, the Public Water Cooperation, and other Ministries, the United Nations, AHFAD University for Women and many NGOs will commit to further actions to accelerate progress towards attaining the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).

When: Sunday, 26 October 2008 from 9:30 till 16:30

Where: Friendship Hall, Nile street

What: At the halfway point towards the 2015 target date to achieve the Goals, the UN and Sudanese leaders will review progress, identify gaps, and commit to concrete action to bridge the gaps. Program is as follows:
