U.S. / Libya / Special Press Briefing on U.S.-Libya Comprehensive Claims Settlement Agreement / Notice to the Press (Revised)

 

TRIPOLI, Libya, August 15, 2008/African Press Organization (APO)/ — Office of the Spokesman

Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs C. David Welch will brief the press on the U.S-Libya comprehensive claims settlement agreement tomorrow, Friday, August 15, at 4:30 p.m. in the State Department Public Affairs Conference Room (2208).

This briefing will be ON-THE-RECORD, OFF-CAMERA.

Media representatives may attend this event upon presentation of one of the following: (1) a U.S. Government-issued identification card (Department of State, White House, Congress, Department of Defense, or Foreign Press Center), (2) a media-issued photo identification card, or (3) a letter from their employer on letterhead verifying their employment as a journalist, accompanied by an official photo identification (driver’s license or passport).

Members of the press who do not have a State Department ID badge and require an escort should meet at 4:15 at the C St. Entrance of the U.S. Department of State.
