Sierra Leone / The World Bank / Daily press briefing by the office of the spokesperson for the UN Secretary-General

 

FREETOWN, Sierra Leone, August 15, 2008/African Press Organization (APO)/ — The World Bank has approved a $4 million grant for Sierra Leone, to help the country cope with the global food crisis.  The money will be used to fund an emergency cash-for-work programme aimed at those households most vulnerable to rising food prices.
