African Union / The newly appointed Ambassadors of Burundi, Djibouti, Gambia and Botswana to the African Union present their credentials

ADDIS ABABA, Ethiopia , June 21, 2008/African Press Organization (APO)/ – The Chairperson of the African Union commission, H.E. Jean Ping, today Friday 20 June 2008, received the credentials of the newly appointed Ambassadors of the Republic of Djibouti, H.E. Ismail Goulal Boudine, Republic of Burundi, H.E. Epiphanie Kabushemeye-Ntanwana, Republic of Botswana, H.E. Manyepedza Patrick and the Republic of The Gambia, H.E. Momodou Sajo Jallow, respectively.

The presentation of the letters of credence took place at the headquarters of the African Union in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

 

During the audience granted to each of the Ambassadors, Chairperson Jean Ping congratulated them for their appointment and welcomed them into their new functions. He further reassured the Ambassadors of the support of the African Union Commission in the dispensation of their duties.

 

The Ambassadors on their part expressed their readiness to work with the African Union leadership so as to overcome the many challenges facing the continent and also to help the Commission realize its vision and missions.
