European Commission offers sympathy to victims of Goma airplane crash

The European Commission has expressed its deepest sympathy to the families of the victims from today’s airplane crash in Goma in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Louis Michel, European Commissioner for Development and Humanitarian Aid, said: “I am deeply saddened to learn about this tragedy and the resulting loss of life. My thoughts are with the families of the victims at this time. On behalf of the European Commission, I would like to express our solidarity towards the people and authorities of the Democratic Republic of Congo at this very difficult time.”
