During his meeting with Kikwete, Wen said China and Tanzania respected and supported each other since establishment of diplomatic ties, and China treats Tanzania as its all-weather cooperative partner. The Chinese government will continue to provide aid for Tanzania’s economic development within its capacity, and hopes to cooperate with Tanzania in expanding pragmatic cooperation, cultivating new growth points and consolidating and deepening China-Tanzania traditional friendly cooperative relations.

Kikwete said Tanzania cherishes the traditional friendly cooperation with China and is ready to deepen bilateral friendship and advance mutually beneficial cooperation in all areas. Noting China’s precious support and assistance for Tanzania over the past years, Kikwete said the Tanzanian people look forward to the Olympic torch relay in Tanzania.
