Javier SOLANA, EU High Representative for the CFSP, welcomes today’s developments in Kenya

 

Javier SOLANA, EU High Representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy

(CFSP), made the following comments today concerning the most recent developments in

Kenya as a result of Kofi Annan’s mediation efforts:

I am encouraged by today’s developments in Kenya, notably the meeting between

President Kibaki and Mr Odinga in the presence of Kofi Annan.

I urge Kenya’s political leaders to further pursue their efforts at achieving reconciliation,

in the interests of the Kenyan people and of the region and the entire African continent.”
