
The African Union reiterates its strong condemnation of the kidnapping of Humanitarian Aid workers in the Sahrawi refugee camps of Tindouf
ADDIS ABABA, Ethiopia, October 31, 2011/African Press Organization (APO)/ — The Chairperson of the Commission of the African Union (AU), Dr.Jean Ping, continues to follow developments relating to the kidnapping, on 23 October 2011, by militants of Al‐Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM), of three European aid workers (two Spanish and one Italian) in Rabouni in the Sahrawi Refugee camps in Tindouf.
The Chairperson of the Commission reiterates AU’s strong condemnation of this cowardly act. He conveys AU’s solidarity with the families of the abducted, and calls on all the countries of the region to intensify their cooperation in the fight against terrorism in the Maghreb region.
