UN Special Representative for Somalia wishes Somalis everywhere “Eid Mubarak”
NAIROBI, Kenya, August 30, 2011/African Press Organization (APO)/ — The UN Special Representative for Somalia, Dr Augustine P. Mahiga, wishes all Somalis both inside their country and outside a happy and blessed Eid al-Fitr.
“I would like to wish the Somali leadership and the people Eid Mubarak with my sincere hope for a prosperous and peaceful future,” said Dr Mahiga.
“However it is with great sadness that we should remember those Somalis who are suffering at this time, because of the effects of the devastating famine or due to the continuing violence and conflict. We hope and pray for an end to their misery and for a brighter future for themselves and their families.
