German Federal Minister Westerwelle expresses his condolences to the UN Secretary-General following a bomb attack in Nigeria

 

BERLIN, Germany, August 29, 2011/African Press Organization (APO)/ — Following the bomb attack today on the UN building in Abuja/Nigeria, which left many people dead or injured, Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle sent a letter of condolence to UN Secretary-General Ban Ki–moon.

The letter read as follows:

“I was deeply shocked by the news of the major attack on the UN building in Abuja, in which many of your staff were either killed or injured. The Federal Government condemns this terrorist act in the strongest terms.

I would like to express my sincere condolences to you and your staff. We share the profound grief of the victims’ families and friends and wish those injured a speedy recovery.”
