Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs Johnnie Carson is traveling to Senegal, Mali, and Guinea from August 28 to September 1. Assistant Secretary Carson will meet with business representatives, government officials, political party leaders, and journalists to discuss regional and multi-lateral issues and economic and democratic development efforts in these West African nations. This is his first visit to Senegal, Mali, and Guinea as Assistant Secretary.
