Agriculture: Five African Ministers to attend the Italian Foreign Ministry Forum

 

ROME, Italy, June 30, 2011/African Press Organization (APO)/ — Five African agricultural ministers have confirmed their participation at the forum on “Agriculture and Investment Opportunities in Sub-Saharan Africa” taking place at the Italian Foreign Ministry tomorrow, 29 June 2011. The announcement was made by the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation, UNIDO, which is organising the event in collaboration with the Foreign Ministry and the Ministry for Agricultural Policy.

The same sources report that the countries represented at the Forum will be Uganda, Mozambique, Gabon, Ethiopia and Sierra Leone. The aim of the organisers is to foster greater involvement by the Italian businesses community in Africa, in the agriculture, livestock and fishing sectors.

The programme includes a “question time” during which Italian operators will have an opportunity for discussion with the Ministers. Many Italian organisations have announced they will be taking part, including: Confagricoltura, Confindustria, Associazione Italiana Allevatori, Federbio and Distretto Pesca.
