
11th EURAFRIC FORUM Water and Energy in Africa / November 8 to 10, 2011 / Lyon Convention Center (France)
LYON, France, June 28, 2011/African Press Organization (APO)/ — Organized by ADEA – Agency for the Development of Business in Africa – and in partnership with the Rhône-Alpes Region, the Grand Lyon and the City of Lyon, the EURAFRIC Forum gathers every year in Lyon, political decision-makers, experts, main international-bakers, and companies on issues relating to the promotion of SME/SMI’s partnership between Europe & Africa.
The 2011 Edition’s will gather in Rhône-Alpes- 1st European Energy region – experts and main international-bakers, political decision-makers and economic as well as many European firms around the issue of Water and Energy, priority sectors for Africa and meeting the United Nations’ Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) : cutting by 2015 the proportion of people without access to drinking water by half.
The purpose of the meetings of the Forum is at first, to promote partnerships between the EU and Africa in Water and Energy sectors, to improve the competitiveness of African companies and to reduce the poverty in Africa.
The Forum aims to bring together in one place for three days, African Ministers and European and African specialized companies to discuss investment projects in Water and Energy in Africa, to study international finance and opportunities for partnerships and technology transfers.
Thanks to its unique concept and the quality of the speakers, the EURAFRIC Forum in Lyon became THE meeting for SME/SMIs. It is aimed at European and African SME/SMIs specialized in equipments manufacturing and industrial subcontracting, to big public and private companies as well as political decision-makers, institutions and financial partners, to professional associations and investment promotion organizations.
Financings, Technology transfers and SME/SMI’s Partnerships will be the major issues of these three meeting days, gathering more than 900 participants from 20 European an African countries.
For this “SPECIAL SOLAR ENERGY” Edition, ADEA organizes a CONFERENCE on “Water & Energy Clusters in Africa” when will be presented the WECAFRICA project – Agency for the Promotion of Water & Energy Clustering in Africa – a unique concept whose
purpose is to improve the competitiveness in renewable energies in African countries by 2015. On the exhibition space area, a POLE dedicated to Renewable Energies and especially to companies specialized in solar energy.

The 2010 edition (October 18 to 21) placed under the sign of the 50th anniversary of African Independences and sponsored by Jacques Toubon, President of the African Independences fifty-years-old committee, had welcomed more than 1 000 participants (+14% with
regard to the 2009edition) from 20 countries among which 16 of Africa (Mali, Senegal, Guinea, Chad, Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, Togo, Benin, Congo, RDC, Gabon, RCA) represented by official delegations.
