What: The United Nations Youth Champion will be in Kenya from 1-9 may 2011 and will be paying a courtesy call to the Assistant Minister Honourable Wavinya Ndeti, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. This will be followed by a press conference in the board room.

Background: The UN Youth Champion is on a world tour which started in January, 2011, to raise awareness of the challenges facing young people within the framework of the International Year of Youth which has been running from 12 August 2010 to 12 August 2011.
The world tour will provide the Youth Champion with the opportunity to meet local youth groups, NGOs, government officials and the media in an attempt to give a voice to young people, to mobilize them as actors for development, positive social change and technical innovation, and at the same time to promote the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs)
