Readout of the Secretary-General’s meeting with H.E. Mr. Mwai Kibaki, President of the Republic of Kenya
NEW YORK, March 31, 2011/African Press Organization (APO)/ — The Secretary-General met today with H.E. Mr. Mwai Kibaki, President of the Republic of Kenya, during his visit to Kenya.
The Secretary-General and President Kibaki discussed efforts to build a more peaceful and prosperous Kenya, including through the implementation of the new Constitution ratified last year.
They also discussed regional peace and security issues – including Somalia, Sudan, Cote d’Ivoire and Libya – as well as HIV/AIDS, sustainable development and climate change.
