German Federal Foreign Office funds emergency medical aid for the victims of violence in Libya
BERLIN, Germany, February 28, 2011/African Press Organization (APO)/ — The large-scale attacks on the civilian population in Libya continue unabated. In the light of the dramatic situation on the ground, the Federal Foreign Office is making available 166,000 euro to the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) for emergency medical aid for victims of the violence in Libya. The funds will be used to finance medical supplies and equipment, as well as the deployment of ICRC emergency teams in Libya. The measure is being carried out in cooperation with the Libyan Red Crescent.
