Third Africa-EU Summit to discuss Investment, Economic Growth and Job Creation

 

 

ADDIS ABABA, Ethiopia, November 29, 2010/African Press Organization (APO)/ — Heads of State and Government from Africa and the European Union will converge in Tripoli, capital city of the Great Socialist People’s Libyan Arab Jamahiriya from 29-30 November within the framework of the Third Africa-EU Summit under the theme: “Investment, economic growth and job creation”.

 

The Africa-EU Summit is a concretization of the Joint Africa-EU strategic partnership adopted in December 2007 in Lisbon with the aim of enhancing the socio-economic and political development of both the European and the African continents for the interest of both populations.

 

In addition to the theme of the Summit, participants will also brainstorm on issues related to regional integration, infrastructure, ICT, science, and private sector development. They will exchange views on energy, climate change, space, the MDGs, agriculture and food security, amongst others.

 

A joint press conference of the African Union and the presidency of the EU will crown the summit on 30 November.

 

Journalists are invited to cover the official opening and closing sessions of the Africa-EU Summit and to take part in the press conference.
