African Union Commission / Invitation of journalists to a press conference
ADDIS ABABA, Ethiopia, October 28, 2010/African Press Organization (APO)/ — Celebration of the African Youth Day and Launching of the International Year of Youth on 1ST November 2010 in Addis Ababa
Journalists are invited to take part at a press conference scheduled to take place on Friday 29 October 2010, at 3:00 pm at the headquarters of the African Union Commission in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
The Press conference which will hold in the Media Center of the African Union Conference Center will be addressed by:
Representative of AUC (Dr. Raymonde Agossou, Head of Division of Youth Development, Mrs. Vera Brenda Ngosi, Director for Human Resources Science and Technology (HRST);
Representative of UNECA (Mrs. Sandra Zawedde, Programme officer in charge of Youth affairs, Charu Bist, Programme officer – International Labour Organisation ( ILO);
Representative of Youth Organization ( Mr.Yohannes Mezgebe – PYU);
A Representative from UNICEF; and
A Representative from the Ethiopian Ministry of Youth.
Worth recalling that the press conference falls within the framework of the celebration of the African Youth Day and the launching of the International Year of Youth observed on 1st November 2010, under the theme: “Dialogue and Mutual Understanding”.
The ceremony this year will take place at the Conference Center of the UNECA. It will focus on the promotion and benefits of youth participation in all aspects of African society.
