Readout of the UN Secretary-General’s meeting with H.E. Mr. Osman Saleh, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Eritrea, in the margins of the 65th General Assembly

 

 

NEW YORK, September 30, 2010/African Press Organization (APO)/ — The Secretary-General met today with H.E. Mr. Osman Saleh, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Eritrea.

 

The Secretary-General thanked Mr. Saleh for Eritrea’s participation in the MDG Summit and the General Assembly. He and Minister Saleh discussed, among other issues, peace and security challenges in the Horn of Africa, including in Somalia and Sudan, and the agreement on the border dispute between Eritrea and Djibouti, mediated by the State of Qatar. The Secretary-General encouraged Minister Saleh to continue to engage the UN on all matters relevant to Eritrea.
