Visit to Japan by H.E. Mr. Jean Ping, Chairperson of the African Union Commission (AUC)
TOKYO, Japan, July 28, 2010/African Press Organization (APO)/ — H.E. Mr. Jean Ping, Chairperson of the African Union Commission (AUC), will visit Japan from August 1 (Sun) to 3 (Tue) as a guest of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
On August 2 (Mon), Mr. Ping will meet with Mr. Katsuya Okada, Minister for Foreign Affairs, for an exchange of opinions on Japan-AU relations. Furthermore, in the afternoon of August 3 (Tue), Mr. Ping is scheduled to give a keynote address at a symposium held by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at the United Nations University, “Present and Future of African Integration—Towards a New Japan-Africa Relationship”
It is expected that Mr. Ping’s visit to Japan will further strengthen the cooperative relationship between Japan and the African Union.
