UNAMID facilitates Human Rights sessions for AU leaders
UNAMID concludes today a series of Human Rights courses for AU senior mission leaders.

The training, held from 12 to 23 April at the AU Senior Mission Leaders Course in Douala, Cameroon, is part of a programme requested by the AU Peace Support Operations Division as an element of its Training and Implementation Plan for the African Stand-by Force. It is run in partnership with the AU Commission with support of the Economic Community of Central African States and Cameroon.

The course is aimed at senior leaders (civilian, military and police) who may one day be appointed to positions at the level of head/deputy head of mission, force commander/deputy or police commissioner/deputy in future AU missions. It also targets individuals who are in, or likely to be in, senior decision-making appointments in the AU Commission, the Regional Economic Communities or national administrations that involve them in the development of the African Peace and Security Architecture and/or the African Stand-by Force.
