Women and gender affairs ministers to endorse key documents in Banjul

 

 

BANJUL, Gambia, November 10, 2009/African Press Organization (APO)/ — African Union experts and ministers of Women and Gender Affairs are expected to come up with endorsement of important documents in the forthcoming meeting to be held in Banjul, the Gambia, from 13-14 November and 21 November 2009.

 

African Women’s Trust Fund, African Union Commission Gender Action Plan and the Roadmap for the African Women’s Decade: 2010-2020 are among the documents anticipated to be considered and endorsed at the end of the meeting. Strategic alliances with partners on the mobilization of resources to support African Women’s Decade Activities and African Women Trust Fund are also of the expected outcomes.

 

It is worthy to note that the meeting will be attended by Ministers of Gender and Women’s Affairs of the AU Member States, and experts drawn from all AU Member states, the Regional Economic Communities and Gender Focal Points of AU Organs, amongst others.
