CAPE-TOWN, South-Africa, March 26, 2009/African Press Organization (APO)/ — EMRC is proud to announce its next international conference, the Agribusiness Forum 2009. Organised for the first time in Africa, the event will take place from the 14th to the 17th of June at the Lord Charles Hotel in Cape Town, South Africa.
Throughout the four day programme top-level speakers from agribusiness companies, governments, banks, foundations and international organisations will discuss business, finance and investment opportunities for Africa’s agro-food industry. Multinational companies, international investors and banks as well as local enterprises will present their innovative solutions for Africa’s agriculture and food industry.
Empowering the Private Sector to Boost Productivity & Growth in Africa is the concept of AgriBusiness 2009 and the forum will seek to emphasise the private sector’s contribution to development. A tailor made business to business match-making programme will be organised throughout the duration of the conference, allowing delegates to maximise networking opportunities. A cash prize of $15.000 for innovative agricultural projects will be awarded at the presentation of the EMRC – Rabobank Project Incubator Award.
The forum is hosted in partnership with The Agricultural Business Chamber of South Africa, Rabobank and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO). The event will be organised with the sponsorship of Heineken, Monsanto, FARA and AGRA, YARA, FMO, ABSA, AFGRI and with the support of Insead, Nepad and Winrock International.
