The President of the Republic of Benin sends
message to BADEA’s Director General
KARTHUM, Sudan, January 28, 2009/African Press Organization (APO)/ — The Director General of the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA) H.E. Mr. Abdelaziz KHELEF received today, Wednesday 28 of January 2008, H.E. Mr. Nicaise K. FAGNON, Minister of Transport and Public Works in the Republic of Benin.
The Minister delivered a message from H.E. Dr. Thomas Boni Yayi President of the Republic of Benin to BADEA’s Director General regarding the on-going projects in his country which BADEA is financing, in addition to future co-operation, especially in the field of infrastructure projects.
The Minister of Transport and Public Works expressed his Government thanks and appreciation for the support extended to Benin and hope that the co-operation will continue.
It is to be recalled that up to the end of 2008, BADEA’s assistance to the Republic of Benin amounted to US $ 123.605 million to finance 28 development projects and technical assistance operations.
The total Arab Financing Institutions aid to the Republic of Benin, including BADEA’s assistance, has reached US$ 446.946 million until end of 2007.
