Nigeria / Italy / Minister Frattini concerned over the violence in Jos

 

ROME, Italy, December 1, 2008/African Press Organization (APO)/ — Minister for Foreign Affairs Franco Frattini expressed his deep concern over the ongoing violence in the city of Jos in Nigeria and its high toll in innocent human lives. The Minister has ordered the Crisis Unit to monitor developments in the situation through the Italian diplomatic authorities in Lagos, especially with regard to the safety of any Italians there. The Crisis Unit is in contact with the two resident Italians in the area, who are on now their way to Abuja with the help of the Italian authorities in charge.
