Significant Activities
Car Hijacking Dawhas village, South Darfur.
UNAMID Sector South informed that a carjack incident occurred on Sep 08 around Dawahs village North East of Kas, South Darfur. A vehicle rented by NGO Action Contre La Faim (ACF), was hijacked along with 2 local staff by unknown gunmen. The incident was reported to GoS police.
Trainings conducted by UNAMID police
UNAMID Police Advisors in Dereig Community Policing Centre (CPC), West Darfur on 15/09/08 launched a five day training programme for 45 IDP community policing volunteers, among which 12 were women.
Also, a one day seminar on Human Right was organized by UNAMID Police Advisors for 34 GoS Police on 15/09/08 at the Zalingei Team Site, West .
In the same vein, .UNAMID Police Gender Advisors in collaboration with UNIFEM organised a three day workshop for sixty women IDP’s at the Sakili/Salam CPC’s on the Rights of Women and Children on 15/09/08
