Mozambico / Italy in Maputo: opportunities and prospects for investment in Mozambico
MAPUTO, Mozambique, July 2, 2008/African Press Organization (APO)/ — A mission made up of Italian business persons and led by Secretary of State for Economic Development Adolfo Urso is scheduled to visit Mozambique from 7 to 11 July within the context of “Italy in Maputo: Opportunities and Prospects for Investment in Mozambique”, an initiative promoted by the Foreign Trade Institute (ICE) in collaboration with the European Documentation Centre (EDC) in Brussels and the Embassy of Italy in Maputo.
The event’s agenda includes an opening workshop featuring speeches by government and institutional representatives both countries concerned with economic and trade development (for Italy: ICE, SIMEST and SACE); bilateral meetings between Italian and Mozambican firms; and visits to several local companies.
The initiative’s intention is to make a contribution to strengthening economic and trade relations between Italy and Mozambique, a country with which we enjoy major credibility thanks to our special mediating role in the 1992 peace accords and to the continuing commitment of our Department of Development Cooperation.
