Sierra Leone / Local council election debates

 

FREETOWN, Sierra Leone, June 25, 2008/African Press Organization (APO)/ — The Sierra Leone Association of Journalists (SLAJ) in collaboration with National Democratic Institute (NDI) and United States Agency for International Development (USAID) will be organizing Local Council Debates at Regional Levels as scheduled below:

Kenema City Council:

June 28, Ahmad Tejan Kabbah Hall, 6:00pm

 

Bo & Bonthe City Councils:

June 29, Bo City Hall, 6:00pm

 

Makeni & Koidu New Sembehun City Councils:

July 1, Makeni City Hall, 6:00pm

 

Freetown City Council:

July 2, Family Kingdom, 8:00pm

 

The events, which will be officially launched at the Tejan Kabbah Hall, Kenema Polytechnic, targets 250 official delegates in each provincial city where they will be conducted and 300 in Freetown.

 

Meanwhile, like the Presidential and Vice Presidential Debates, they will be broadcast and relayed nationwide using a network of radio stations.
