EUFOR suffers its first fatality

 The remains of the EUFOR peacekeeper missing since 03 March, have been formally identified in Khartoum and will be returned to Paris later today.Extending sympathy to the family of the French soldier the EUFOR Operation Commander Lieutenant General Pat Nash expressed his deepest condolences to the peacekeeper’s family and to the French Armed Forces. It is a very sad day for EUFOR. The tragic outcome of last Monday’s inadvertent border-crossing incident demonstrates the potential and actual sacrifices that soldiers serving the cause of peace in mission areas all around the world face so that others may live more securely and safely.
