Appointment Of Singapore’s High Commissioner To The Republic Of Kenya

  

The Government has appointed Mr Yatiman bin Yusof as Singapore’s next High Commissioner to the Republic of Kenya. He will be resident in Singapore.


Mr Yatiman bin Yusof was the Senior Parliamentary Secretary of the Ministry of Information, Communications And The Arts from 1997 to 2006 and also a Member of Parliament from 1984 to 2006. He was appointed as Parliamentary Secretary of Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1986 before becoming Senior Parliamentary Secretary in 1993.

BIOGRAPHICAL SUMMARY

Mr Yatiman bin Yusof was born on 22 September 1946 in Malaysia. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (Arts & Social Science) from the University of Singapore in 1972.

Mr Yatiman bin Yusof was a teacher from 1965 to 1978 before working as a journalist from 1978 to 1984. Between 1984 to 1986, he was the Advertising Manager of Berita Harian and Berita Minggu. He was appointed as Parliamentary Secretary of Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1986 before becoming Senior Parliamentary Secretary in 1993. From 1997 to 2006, he was the Senior Parliamentary Secretary of Ministry of Information, Communications And The Arts. He served as a Member of Parliament from 1984 to 2006.

Mr Yatiman bin Yusof is married to Mdm Sadiah bte Kalyoni and they have four children.
