31 African journalists request an invitation to the Conference of the United Nations against corruption
“In accordance with the wish expressed by the United Nations, the African Press Organization (APO) transmit today to the UN a list of 31 African journalists eager to be invited to take part in the media cover of the Second session of the Conference of the States Parties to the United Nations Convention against corruption, which will be held in Bali (Indonesia), January, 28, to February, 1, 2008“, announced Monday the Secretary-General of the African Press Organization (APO), Mr. Nicolas POMPIGNE-MOGNARD, specifying that the United Nations will decide of the final list of the journalists who will benefit of free transportation and accommodation.

“The African Press Organization is convinced that the African media have a central place in the promotion of good governance in Africa. In this context, we are particularly happy to support the participation of the African media in the media cover of the Second session of the Conference of the States Parties to the United Nations Convention against corruption“, in particular declared the Secretary-General of the African Press Organization, Nicolas POMPIGNE-MOGNARD.
Under article 6 of its statutes, the African Press Organization has in particular the role of answering the requests of the international institutions related to Africa, and of acting in favour of the promotion of the good governance.
* According to the United Nations, the journalists must-to be citizens of the following country: Angola, Benin, Burkina Faso, Cap Verde, Central African Republic, Djibouti, Guinea Bissau, Madagascar, Mauritania, São Tome and Principe, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Togo.

31 journalistes Africains sollicitent une invitation à la Conférence des Nations Unies contre la corruption
« Conformément au souhait exprimé par les Nations-Unies, l’Organisation de la Presse Africaine (APO) vient de transmettre une liste de 31 journalistes Africains désireux d’être invité à participer à la couverture médiatique de la Seconde session de la Conférence des États parties à la Convention des Nations Unies contre la corruption, qui se déroulera à Bali (Indonésie) du 28 janvier au 1 février 2008 », a annoncé lundi le Secrétaire-Général de l’Organisation de la Presse Africaine (APO), M. Nicolas POMPIGNE-MOGNARD, précisant que les Nations-Unies devait désormais établir la liste définitive des journalistes qui bénéficieront de la prise en charge de leur séjour.

Dans ce contexte, nous sommes particulièrement heureux de favoriser la participation des médias Africains à la couverture médiatique de la Seconde session de la Conférence des États parties à la Convention des Nations Unies contre la corruption », a notamment déclaré le Secrétaire-Général de l’Organisation de la Presse Africaine, Nicolas POMPIGNE-MOGNARD.
Aux termes de l’article 6 de ses statuts, l’Organisation de la Presse Africaine a notamment pour mission de répondre aux sollicitations des institutions internationales liées à l’Afrique, et d’agir en faveur de la promotion de la bonne gouvernance.
* Rappelons que conformément au mandat fixé à l’APO par les Nations-Unies, les journalistes devaient-être ressortissants de l’un des pays suivant : Angola, Benin, Burkina Faso, Cap Vert, République Centrafricaine, Djibouti, Guinée Bissau, Madagascar, Mauritanie, São Tomé and Principe, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Togo.
