Europe-Africa Summit: The European Commission offers eight plane tickets for the African journalists

“The European Commission has just decided to take charge of the plane tickets of the eight (8) African journalists who will profit from the free lodging offered by the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Portugal during the Europe-Africa Summit of Lisbon“, announced Friday morning the Secretary-General of the African Press Organization (APO), Mr. Nicolas POMPIGNE-MOGNARD.

“Thanks to the combined efforts of the European Commission, of the Portuguese Presidency of the Council of the European Union and the African Press Organization, eight (8) journalists eager to take part in the media cover of the Europe-Africa Summit of Lisbon will see themselves offering a plane ticket as well as a free lodging“, confirmed the Secretary-General of the African Press Organization, specifying that many journalists had addressed a request for free lodging.

Mr. Nicolas POMPIGNE-MOGNARD in addition made a point of greeting “the exceptional quality of listening, professionalism, and the great availability of the Spokesman of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Portugal, Mrs. Paula MASCARENHAS, as well as Mr. Ian BARBER, Chief of the communication of the DG of the Development of the European Commission“.

The Secretary-General of the African Press Organization (APO) addressed Friday morning a letter to the Deputy head of cabinet of the European Commissioner Louis Michel (Development and Humanitarian Aid), Mr. Koen Doens, indicating that the list of the journalists selected will be transmitted to the European Commission at the latest on November 23, 2007.

The Europe-Africa Summit will proceed in Lisbon (Portugal) on December 7 and 9, 2007.

CAUTION :

Only journalists having addressed a request for free lodging before November 15 to 12: 00 GMT
are able to claim with the attribution of a plane ticket.

Sommet Europe-Afrique : La Commission européenne offre huit billets d’avion aux journalistes Africains

 « La Commission européenne vient de décider de prendre en charge les billets d’avions des huit (8) journalistes Africains qui bénéficieront de l’hébergement gratuit offert par le Ministère des Affaires étrangères du Portugal durant le Sommet Europe-Afrique de Lisbonne », a annoncé vendredi matin le Secrétaire-Général de l’Organisation de la Presse Africaine (APO), M. Nicolas POMPIGNE-MOGNARD.

« Grace aux efforts combinés de la Commission européenne, de la Présidence portugaise du Conseil de l’Union Européenne et de l’Organisation de la Presse Africaine, huit (8) journalistes désireux de participer à la couverture médiatique du Sommet Europe-Afrique de Lisbonne se verront offrir un billet d’avion ainsi qu’un hébergement gratuit », a confirmé le Secrétaire-Général de l’Organisation de la Presse Africaine, précisant que de nombreux journalistes avaient adressé une demande d’hébergement gratuit.

M. Nicolas POMPIGNE-MOGNARD a par ailleurs tenu à saluer « l’exceptionnelle qualité de l’écoute, le professionnalisme, et la grande disponibilité de la Porte-parole du Ministère des Affaires étrangères du Portugal, Mme Paula MASCARENHAS, ainsi que de M. Ian BARBER, Chef de la communication de la Direction Générale du Développement de la Commission Européenne ».

 Le Secrétaire-Général de l’Organisation de la Presse Africaine (APO) a adressé vendredi matin une correspondance au Chef de Cabinet adjoint du Commissaire Louis Michel, M. Koen Doens, indiquant que la liste des bénéficiaires sera transmise à la Commission européenne au plus tard le 23 novembre 2007.

Le Sommet Europe-Afrique se déroulera à Lisbonne (Portugal) les 7, 8 et 9 décembre 2007.

sont en mesure de prétendre à l’attribution d’un billet d’avion.
